About Purcell Construction
Owner and operator Hunter Purcell Jr., began his career at 13 as a carpenter’s apprentice. He carried lumber, gathered tools and all types of grunt work while learning the trade from his father and grandfather.
When Hunter was 17, he was framing and roofing while learning plumbing and drywall from his two uncles. Within two years he had a 10-man crew working on a wide variety of jobs ranging from roofing to custom homes.
At 21, Hunter headed off to Business School where he studied Business Management. With his degree, he was off to California where he became a Project Manager and Estimator for a commercial company.
When he moved back to Virginia, Hunter was trimming, framing, and building by day, and taking real estate classes by night. After obtaining his real estate license he began selling and building custom homes for Groome Construction, and after four years experience began his own company.
The next four years consisted of building and selling custom homes and garages. Hunter then became a Project Manager for the next 10 years, and is now back in business for himself doing home renovations, insurance claim work and completing rehabs on bank owned property.
